For You

This blog is for you, Beloved.

Here’s to the lonely girls. Here’s to the girls that are exhausted.  To the girls that can barely make it through the day.  Who are pressed on every side by guilt, pressured by accomplishment, bombarded with standards of perfection.  Here’s to the girls that need to breathe, longing for rest.  Here’s to the runners, the girls that never give up, but wonder if their bodies will give up first.

This blog is for you.

This is a resting place.  A place where we can step back from the rush and refocus on the true purpose of life.  A place to be reminded of the trueness of mercy.  To ponder the glory of God, the love of Jesus, the unfathomable depths of grace.

This is the place where you can rest and know that you are not alone.

This is the realm of hopeful romance, where our weary hearts surrender to the protection of His hands.

Won’t you join me on this journey?  We can get a latte (or a pink lemonade, if you don’t like coffee–I won’t judge) and eat chocolate together.  We can laugh and cry and talk for hours about life’s crazy and God’s amazing.

Join me, Beloved, and know that you’re not alone.

About Amy

A typical twenty-something, I believe in messy hair and loud music. I tend to eat too much chocolate and drink coffee obsessively.  I read well past my bedtime.  I dance clumsy and sing too loud.  I play guitar and wear Toms.  I love my iPhone, too geeky for my own good.  I’m a homeschool grad and the oldest of ten kids.

I love hard and am hopelessly romantic.

Most of all, I am a passionate Jesus lover, saved by grace and ever seeking His grace and beauty in the messiness of life.  I tend to be forgetful, so I have to be constantly reminded of these things–relearning, understanding, embracing the seemingly impossible truth of grace.

I am my Beloved’s and He is mine.

Life has been tough ranging from moving from my childhood home state, to dealing with the loss of a family member, to failed relationships.  Through it all, Jesus has been my solid hope and stay–providing grace and beauty even in the darkest moments.  Though I tend to continually forget and need constant reminding, He is ever patient.  He is always teaching me when it’s okay to just cry and when I need to pull myself up by my bootstraps.  When I need to speak up and when I need to be meek.  Through ever pressing closer to Him, only beginning to understand His holiness and my helplessness, I rejoice in His love for me.

It is from all this that I desire deeply to share with you.

That you might know that you’re not alone, that He knows and He has grace for every circumstance.  I might not be able to understand what you are going through, but having gone through a lot myself, I understand the fundamentals of grace.  It is this basic but so intricately beautiful truth that I wish to explore with you.

His unfathomable depths and riches of His grace are mind-blowing.  Join me and we will explore them together!
